The moment we visited in person, we were completely in awe.
Carl and Monessa met on a night out when two separate friend groups came together. Amid laughter and conversation, they felt an immediate connection. By the following week, they were on their first date, and weekends quickly became a ritual of shared experiences, storytelling, and slowly falling in love. What began as a spontaneous night out evolved into a lasting, beautiful love story.
Kauri Bay captivated them instantly. Its panoramic ocean views, peaceful surroundings, and warm atmosphere provided the perfect setting for their ceremony. One of their most treasured moments was stepping away for a private portrait session on the hill at sunset, complete with a double rainbow—a magical, intimate pause amid the celebrations. Walking down the aisle and locking eyes before family and friends was another unforgettable highlight, full of anticipation and emotion.
Small personal touches made the day even more meaningful. A framed photo of Carl’s late mum ensured her presence was felt throughout, especially during their vows. A soft sprinkle of rain during the ceremony and the sun breaking through the clouds felt like a quiet blessing, connecting the couple with loved ones who could not be there physically. From intimate reflections to lively celebration, every aspect of the day reflected their personalities and love, creating a deeply personal and unforgettable wedding full of meaning, joy, and cherished memories
